Last week we talked about Community helpers and different jobs people have! Mrs. Alicia and Mrs. Donna's kiddos practiced writing on paper, whiteboards, and in shaving cream! They also built some creative structures with blocks and manipulatives, had some great circle times, and a lot of fun gross motor time! Check out all the great learning going on in this classroom in the pictures below!
Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs. Sheena's class had a lot of fun learning about their bodies last week! Some of the fun activities they did were make their bodies out of clay, act out Humpty Dumpty, make x-rays, and label organs on the outline of their bodies! What great fun they had all while learning!
Mrs. Becca and Miss Allison had a fun week exploring the five senses and celebrating September birthdays! Students used their sense of touch to feel things in the mystery box, they explored their sense of smell with different jars to smell, and did a taste test to explore the sense of taste! To top it all off, Mrs. Becca even brought her pet snake from home for the students to use their senses to explore (don't worry he is friendly and harmless)! What a fun week at Sallie Cone!
Last week our theme was Family and Home. Miss Samantha and Ms. Chinetta's class read "What Mommies do Best" and "What Daddies do Best" by Laura Numeroff. They discussed families, made family photo collages at home with mom and dad and discussed them with friends at school, and made family trees. In addition to the family activities, they added 2 people to their house for a math activity and used cereal to outline the letter H and the number 2! It was a busy week in this classroom!
It has been a wonderful two weeks at Sallie Cone with Conway's newest wampus cats! Check out the photos to see what some of our classes have been up to!

Mrs. Kayla and Mrs. Patsy's class have had a BLAST exploring the Fall season. They have made name turkeys and played with homemade play-doh (which was a huge hit!) They also explored pumpkins, tried the seeds, counted the seeds, and measured the pumpkins!
They've also been working very hard on their Thanksgiving Play which they will be performing Thursday, November 19 @ 10:00.
Mrs. Libby & Mrs. ANNA
Mrs. Libby and Mrs. Anna's class have explored the color orange from pumpkins to leaf creations! Last week, the children explored the inside and outside of a pumpkin using their 5 senses. Later, they tasted pumpkin pie and almost all of the children liked the taste of it! This week, the class was invited to bring in fall nature items for the science center. The students learned a new song called "The Leaves on the Trees" and acted it out with leaves in hand! Part of the week has been set aside to practice their parts for the play "Hooray for Thanksgiving" which will be presented for the parents on Thursday, November 19 @ 10:00 in the Sallie Cone cafeteria!
Mrs. Jennifer & Mrs. SHeena
Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs. Sheena's class has had a great couple of weeks! They've taste tested their homemade applesauce and had a visit from the Conway Fire Department! They discussed the parts of their face and the different parts of their body. They drew outlines of their bodies and drew in their own face. Miss Samantha and Ms. Chinetta's class also discussed bones and what x-rays are for. They made an "X-ray" of their hand with toothpicks and q-tips! They also made bodies out of noodles and called them Noodle Dudes! So cool!
The students in Miss Samantha and Ms. Chinetta's class practiced their ABC movements and read the book "Going On A Lion Hunt". They even acted out the motions!
